MIT processing programming language for artists

The MIT processing programming language for artists has reached version 2.0 -

but I will stay with MIT Curl as a mature expression-based language with its Lisp-like features.

That said, processing is now 64-bit and OpenGL. But. Curl has great libraries, "live code" as documentation and and IDE  written in Curl itself ...

Note : expression-based Icon programming language has graphics in Icon, Unicon and ObjectIcon and Rebol will soon emerge again as rebol3 and the red programming language.

Confucian Analects of Confucious in Curl

At phil.aule-browser.com/ancient/analects.html there is now a Curl-markup version of this text the understanding of which is crucial to assessing the political climate in China.

The above version includes Chinese Kanji  for critical passages. Another version in Enlish only and with a Serif font can be found at phil.aule-browser.com/ancient/analects-en.html.

Both require the Curl RTE browser plugin from www.curl.com.

Both pages use the identical source SCURL file but each main Curl file provides a different definition of {c } which is a text format procedure whose expression wraps each piece of Chinese content. In one page it returns the content and for the other page it returns en empty {text } expression.

The table of contents in the left panel indexes the chapters of the 20  ‘books’.

PLT Scheme becomes Racket

PLT Scheme is not only alive and well but has a new name and home: Racket at racket-lang.org

Think hack-a-rocket or the planet-scheme.

Racket is intended to foster experimentation and innovation with domain-specific languages.

I am a big fan of the Curl programming language from curl.com because it has DSL-friendly macros and is both expression-based and functional and declarative and class-oriented.

At en.wikipedia.org you will see Racket in the multi-paradigm category when I get a moment - for now they have some discussion of this at wp.

Meanwhile Rebol3 works its way towards beta ...
